The Easiflow Driveline
system takes the place of the conventional stern tube,
intermediate housings and the inboard flanged bearings.
Easiflow is a one design system to suit all types of
vessels whether they are constructed in GRP composite,
timber, aluminium, steel or ferro. Easiflow is
constructed from a Hi-tech woven unidirectional fabric
which is pre-impregnated with a thermo setting Epoxy
resin, then laminated and cured under pressure using the
latest techniques to ensure optimum density and
stability.
The Easiflow stern tube system is certified by
SGS M&I Safety Inspection Services Ltd. Over 80% of all vessels
constructed in New Zealand use this unique system.
Easiflow can be installed
using orca chok resin or traditional epoxy and glass fibre
for timber and GRP or EasiChok or chockfast resin for
steel, aluminium and ferro construction. Easiflow can be
fitted with the Kiwi Shaft Seal, PSS, Deep Sea, Duramax or Strong
seal, all of which are dry gland forced cooled seals. The
drive tube can also be fitted with a combination of
bearings, singular or outboard and inboard. The bearings
mostly used are Thordon Compac, Thordon XL and Duramax,
although any other specified type can be used as the I.D.
of the tubes have been selected according to world wide
bearing specifications.
The installation of the
Easiflow System is extremely simple.
-
For timber and glass vessels, line bore
to give a clearance on the tube and epoxy into place.
-
For steel and aluminium vessels, a tube
is welded into place giving a clearance of approximately 4mm around
the diameter of the easiflow tube. Float the tube within the welded
tube, for correct alignment, then pour an
easichok, our brand of fitting resin, to set in place.
Full installation instructions are supplied
with all products. The Easiflow driveline system has been installed in Lloyd's and M&I
surveyed vessels and caters for shafts from 3/4" to 4" in
diameter.
