Salthouse 52 |

Following is a photo of the Salthouse 52
boat featured in the Motor Yacht Magazine in the January - February 07
issue. Henleys Propellers and
Marine together with Pacific Driveline Ltd, supplied the driveline
components of this particular boat from the gearbox through to the rudder.
The boat is fitted with MGX 5114A Twin
Disc gearbox, an IFC 8100 Isoflex Flexible Coupling,
2 3/4" diameter stainless steel shaft, cast struts,
cast rudders complete with rudder ports and
30" 5-bladed tiger propellers.
The Salthouse 52 is also fitted with EC300
Twin Disc Electronic Controls. |

| At 26.5 tonne (heavy
displacement), the Pacific Pearl - Salthouse 52, while heavier than
the standard Salthouse 52 with twin Cummins QSM 11s, still returns
impressive fuel and performance data. Powered by twin MTU series 60,
825 HP engines, Pacific Pearl has a maximum speed of 30 knots.
However as she will spend a fair amount of its time at trolling
speeds around 8 knots, the fuel usage at lower and cruising speed
was important to the owner. In trials, Pacific Pearl returned an
impressive 16 lph total fuel usage at 8 knots. With 4000 liters of
fuel that is an impressive 2000nm range. |
