The Waitemata is always on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with two crews on a
12 hour shift. The Waitemata performs standard pilot boat duties picking up and
dropping off pilots all over the harbour and can serve from 3 to 30 ships per
shift. The skipper, Sean McCormack has been with the vessel for the last
seven years and has been very happy with the service the WAITEMATA has
provided. The design of the hull allows them to travel in high winds,
large swells, and still the vessel remains stable and smooth providing a
safe and comfortable trip. Docking is never a problem, using only the drives for
steering and maneuvering. The vessel has been operating for the past 13
years and is still performing well. |
