Doen Waterjets
Henleys is the agent of the Doen Waterjets in New Zealand. The Doen waterjet series is the culmination of 30 years design and manufacturing experience, using the latest in waterjet technology with a complete range of models matching engines from 30hp to 3750hp. Doen waterjets have the following advantages.

COMPLETE SAFETY

  • No exposed propeller ensures safety when operating around people in water.

SHALLOW DRAFT

  • Waterjet intake flush with the hull, provides minimal draft in shallow water with the absence of underwater appendages.

 

SUPERIOR MANOEUVRING

  • 360° thrusting ability for turning, docking and holding station.

  • Twin jets enable the boat to move sideways.

 

EMERGENCY STOPPING

  • The reverse bucket can be fully lowered for emergency stopping, within a few boat lengths.

 

LOW COST MAINTENANCE

  • Without underwater gear there can be no damage from submerged objects, debris, snags, etc.

  • Minimal operational downtime, improving revenue returns.

  • Easy inspection and maintenance procedures.

 

HIGH EFFICIENCY

  • Waterjets have higher propulsive efficiencies than propeller systems at medium to high planing speeds.

  • State of the art impeller design matched to available horsepower, ensures optimum boat performance.

 

MAXIMUM ENGINE LIFE

  • Waterjet is matched to the engine horsepower, ensuring no engine overload under any conditions.

  • Absorption of horsepower is independent of boat speed, unlike fixed pitch propellers.

EASE OF INSTALLATION

  • Without complex engine alignment problems, the factory supplied waterjet is ready for installation inclusive of reverse and steering system.

 

SIMPLE YET EFFECTIVE

  • A single waterjet replaces all propeller underwater gear, shaft, rudder, propeller, struts, glands, etc.

  • With many installations a gearbox is not required.

  • Simply, a driveshaft from engine to waterjet coupling for direct applications, not requiring a gearbox. 

FLEXIBILITY

  • Waterjets are suitable for planing and displacement vessels, in single, twin, triple or quad configuration.

BOOSTER WATERJETS

  • Booster waterjets without reverse and steering systems, can be used in conjunction with other size waterjets or with conventional propeller system, for boost requirements.
  • Booster waterjets increase top speed and acceleration, independently of the main propulsors when additional thrust is required.

REDUCED DRAG

  • Without underwater gear, hull resistance can be reduced by up to 12%

SMOOTH AND QUIET

  • No vibration or high speed cavitation, ensures comfort on board in a quiet and smooth manner when in operation.
